Breast appear to look nicer than prior oncological diagnosis.

In case of delayed breast implant reconstruction first stage is mounting a expander under large pectoral muscle. Then expander is being pumped up with water so that it’s volume would stretch the tissues and prepare them for the permanent implant. Second stage is to ount a permanent implant instead of expander and to smoothen the gland for symmetry.

IMPORTATNT!

If the patient has a history of radiotherapy, previous unsuccessful reconstructions or significantly thin breast tissues, the procedure can only be performed with the use of additional flaps to improve circulation and tissue strength.

Disadvantages: there are always two stages, one should attend for expander pumping, risk of long-term complications, need to check-up annually for gland and implant capsula condition.
